See where the money goes, without handing over your bank login.
CASHO has no bank connection. Your household adds what matters, which takes seconds, keeps your banking details out of it entirely, and is the exact moment you catch the subscription you meant to cancel.
No bank login · no card · your data stays yours
Privacy and attention, in that order.
Manual entry is not a missing feature we are dressing up. It’s the decision the rest of the product is built on.
CASHO never asks for your bank login, never uses open banking, and never stores banking credentials. There is nothing to revoke later, because nothing was connected.
The only financial data CASHO holds is what your household entered: transactions, budgets, subscriptions, goals and any receipts you upload. There is no imported feed sitting behind it.
Logging a spend takes seconds and puts the number in front of you while you still remember it. That’s the habit a shared budget runs on, and a synced feed quietly removes it.
A household splits the entering between them, and recent activity shows who added what. It stops being one person’s admin job, which is usually why the spreadsheet died.
What you give up, said plainly
Every product choice costs something. Here is what this one costs, so you can decide before you sign up rather than after.
- Nothing appears on its own. If nobody enters anything for a week, the picture is a week old.
- You choose what matters. Most households log the meaningful spending and skip the noise, which is a feature for clarity and a limitation if you want a full ledger.
- No automatic reconciliation against your bank statement, because CASHO never sees your statement.
- If you specifically want automatic bank-feed import, CASHO is honestly not the right tool for you.
Three ways households do this today
Most households we talk to are choosing between a shared spreadsheet, a bank-connected budgeting app, or nothing at all. This is how those approaches differ, in general terms.
| Approach | Getting data in | Sharing | Privacy | Who does the maths |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A shared spreadsheet | Manual, and someone owns the formulas | Shared, until two people edit at once | Private, but only as private as the file | You build every calculation yourself |
| A bank-feed budgeting app | Automatic import, once you connect accounts | Usually built around one person | Requires bank access and stored connections | Automatic, if the categorisation guesses right |
| CASHO | Manual, in seconds, shared across the household | Built for multiple members, real time on every device | No bank connection, no credentials, no feed | Allocation, per-person shares and settle-up done for you |
General comparison of approaches, not a claim about any particular product. CASHO tracks and organises money. It never connects to a bank, imports transactions, or moves real money. General information only, not financial advice.
Does CASHO connect to my bank?
No, and that’s on purpose. CASHO has no bank connection. You add transactions yourself, which keeps your banking details private and helps you actually notice your spending.
Could you add bank syncing later?
The product direction today is manual entry, and everything on this site reflects that. If that ever changed, the promise on this page would have to change first, and we would say so plainly rather than quietly shipping it.
What data does CASHO actually hold?
Your account details, your household settings, and the entries your household adds: transactions, income, budgets, subscriptions, savings goals and optional receipt photos. Nothing is imported from a bank.
Can another household see our numbers?
No. Each household’s data is isolated at the database level, so members of another household can never see yours. Roles control who inside your household can edit or only view.
Can I get my data out again?
Yes. In the app, Settings then Data and privacy offers a full export as JSON and CSV, plus delete household and delete account. Deletion is permanent.
