The things households ask first.

Straight answers about how CASHO works, what it holds, what it costs, and the things it deliberately does not do. If your question is not here, emailhello@casho.com.au and we will answer it properly.

Getting started

What is CASHO?

A shared household finance app for couples, families, freelancers and housemates. It gives your household one real-time dashboard for income, spending, budgets and subscriptions, so everyone can see where the money goes.

How long does it take to set up?

About two minutes. You pick your household type, name the household, invite your people, optionally set a shared savings goal, and start adding what matters.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. CASHO is free while in beta and no card is required to sign up.

Is there a mobile app to download?

CASHO runs on the web, so it works on any device with a browser, phone included. There is nothing to install.

Can I use it on my own?

Yes. Choose the "just me" household type and you get the solo view, including a tax set-aside figure, months of runway and a safe-to-spend number. CASHO simply shines brightest when money is shared.

Sharing, members and roles

How do I add other people to my household?

In the app, go to Settings, then Members, then Invite. Enter their email and pick a role. They join with their own login and see the shared data in real time.

What can each role do?

Roles gate permissions. Primary has full control, including deleting the household. Partner or Secondary and Member can add and edit transactions. Viewer is read-only. Family households add Teen (view and log) and Kid (view only, with an allowance balance).

Is there a limit on how many members we can have?

No. A household can hold as many members as you need, each with their own login and role.

Can I be in more than one household?

Yes. You can belong to multiple households, for example your home and a share house, and switch between them. Each keeps completely separate data.

Can my kids use it safely?

Roles gate what each person can do. Teen can view and log, and Kid can view only, with an allowance balance they can check. You stay in control of what they can see and change.

Privacy and your data

Does CASHO connect to my bank?

No, and that’s on purpose. CASHO has no bank connection. You add transactions yourself, which keeps your banking details private and helps you actually notice your spending.

What data does CASHO hold?

Your account details, your household settings, and the entries your household adds: transactions, income, budgets, subscriptions, savings goals and any receipt photos you upload. There is no imported bank feed.

Can other households see my data?

No. Each household’s data is isolated at the database level. Members of another household cannot see yours.

How do I export or delete my data?

In the app, Settings then Data and privacy offers export as JSON and CSV, plus delete household and delete account. Deletion is permanent.

Are receipt photos private?

Yes. Receipts you upload are stored privately and are visible to your household, not publicly. You can export or delete your data at any time.

What CASHO does not do

Can CASHO pay my bills or move money?

No. CASHO tracks and organises money. It does not move money, pay bills, or transfer funds. Settle-up shows who owes whom, and the actual payment happens outside CASHO.

Does settle-up send money to my housemates?

No. Settle-up does the maths and shows who owes whom across rent and bills. You settle between yourselves however you normally would.

Is this financial advice?

No. CASHO is a tracking and budgeting tool, general information only, not financial, tax or investment advice. For your situation, talk to a licensed professional.

Does CASHO import my transactions automatically?

No. All transactions are entered manually by your household. That is the design, not a limitation we are working around.

Pricing

Is it free? What will it cost later?

It’s free while in beta, no card needed. A Premium plan of around $7 per household per month is planned for after beta, and beta users keep the core free.

Is Premium priced per person?

No, per household. One price covers everyone in the household, however many members you invite.

What will Premium include?

The exact feature split and launch timing are not finalised, so we will not guess. We will publish the details before anything is ever charged. See the pricing page for what is free today.

Practical things

Which currencies and countries does CASHO support?

CASHO is made in Australia and defaults to AUD, and also supports USD, NZD, GBP and EUR. It runs on the web, on any device.

I cannot sign in. What now?

Use the password reset on the sign-in page. Sign-in supports Google as well as email and password. If a reset email does not arrive, check your spam folder, then email hello@casho.com.au and we will help.

Which address does CASHO email from?

Confirmation and invite emails come from one@casho.com.au or hello@casho.com.au. If you cannot find one, check spam first, then get in touch.

How do I get help or send feedback?

Email hello@casho.com.au. CASHO is in beta, so feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next.

CASHO is a budgeting and tracking tool, general information only, not financial advice. It has no bank connection and never moves money. Example figures on this site are illustrative, not guaranteed outcomes. See ourprivacy summary or get in touch.
